It's Food Frustration Time
Yesterday we gave Mab a whole apple and then opened it for her by taking a bite out of it. Today I gave her an orange slice, but she refused it, and indicated that she wanted a whole orange instead. Well, I gave it to her, and she sat on the kitchen floor, raising it to her lips, bumping it against her mouth, and lowering it again, crying for a good five minutes while I made tea and offered her the slice again. It was clear that she wanted me to open the orange, but oranges don't work that way. Finally Faelan said, "You're just going to have to grate the peel, and then she'll take it." So I cut off some of the peel, she sunk her tooth into it, and all was well.
